Commissions
To commission a painting, preparation is essential and usually starts with an approach by email, text or phone call- anyway is welcome! A face to face meeting with a blank sketch pad (and occasionally a glass of wine!) will follow, and we can brainstorm some ideas and hopefully come up with something suitable. I then quote for the work and if all is in agreement I will then paint the picture and work to an agreed deadline. I can arrange for framing of the finished picture, and I have some top framers who do great frames and mounts for me. Copyrights always remain my property, as is the law, but often a commission will require some limited edition prints to be made from the original, I will quality control these, and sign and number the results.
INDIVIDUAL CARICATURES - a study of a single figure, dressed in suitably typical attire and with one or two props in a blank background; alternatively the figure can be set into a landscape with some humorous things going on around and about.
GROUP CARICATURES - once a year I take on a group caricature, it involves me meeting and getting to know everyone on the shortlist, then with the use of sketches and photographs, I finish the work in my studio.
CARTOONS - humorous situations, either with recognisable figures or not, one can have fun here!
ADVERTISING - cartoons to promote a business, often using animals.
CHRISTMAS CARDS - I do the 'Game and Wildlife Conservation Trust's' Christmas cards every year, as well as other specially commissioned cards for private clients or businesses.
PEN AND INK - this can be a less expensive option for commissioning a work; but it is also how I illustrate books.
OTHER - I love to do landscapes as well, and as I call myself an artist I would be happy to tackle anything...try me!
